My Wife and I were looking for a new date place. We both love to cook, so often most places we eat are somewhat disappointing. Not the Conewago Inn! My wife and I were pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely delicious. My wife has health issues that require she avoid most processed foods. This place has very healthy food! She had no reactions and loved the food! I’m Italian and ordered the eggplant Parmesan which exceeded my expectations. We also ordered a crab cake which was FRESH blue crab, no filler, and once again more than exceeded our expectations! The prices were very reasonable and we received more than generous portions. They offered wonderful lunch specials! The environment was cozy and inviting. The staff was very personable! We have found our new favorite date place! Thank you Conewago Inn, we will be returning!

Looking for a new place to go with friends, we were so happy we chose the Conewago Inn. Just a short 18 minute ride north of York we found the most delicious jumbo lump Blue crab cakes with virtually no “filler” that tasted sweet like crab should and not of Old Bay. Reasonably priced, large portions and something on the menu for everyone. And if you are a tuna lover, the seared tuna appetizer is delightful and is served as an entree as well. Wine is average priced but my husband’s Smirnoff on the rocks was under $4 and a great pour! We will return very soon. Attentive service and friendly staff.

I can’t stop raving about this place and the excellent dinner I had there this past Friday night – smoked filet! Wasn’t sure what to expect but I was blown away by the awesome steak! So very tender and tasty that I’m still dreaming about it! It started off excellent with a crab dip appetizer, then crab and asparagus soup that was perfect, followed by the main course and in between there was the chocolate raspberry butter for the dinner roll! OMG! I live 2 hours away and am trying to figure out how I’m going to get back there this weekend! The owner was gracious and the wait staff was very helpful, funny, and responsive! My dinner companion had the prime rib and was also very happy with her meal! Keep up the great work! Thanks!

We entertained @ the Conewago Inn on Sept. 14 and decided to go early and have dinner with friends, The food & staff are top notch, everyone at our table cleaned their plate. A special shout out goes to Karen & Jenn part of the wait staff who went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.  It was a pleasure seeing Tom the owner meeting and greeting the diners treating them like family, what a class act. I highly recommend dining here, thank you to all of the great staff and chefs for a very pleasant dining experience.

We have been coming into the Conewago Inn for a few months now. Love the service there. Our food is always great. But for some reason this past Sunday we visited. And our food seemed to be better than prior visits. Our you guys doing some new things there to your crabcakes. They were amazing…. Hats off to you guys. My wife and I dined at your restaurant for the first time last evening. Afterwards on our way home we kept asking ourselves how we never experienced your restaurant before! We really enjoyed the fine dining in the casual atmosphere. The service was great. The fact that the owner shakes your hand and thanks you for coming is something that you do not see at most establishments. The food was excellent, and quite frankly the broiled seafood platter that I ordered was the best that I ever had. We look forward to many more visits!

I wanted to thank you for the outstanding  meal we had over the weekend celebrating my husband’s birthday. From the champagne that awaited us and the appetizers that followed to the great meal we all enjoyed. We all raved about the service and the fantastic food, to top it off you singing the signature Conewago Birthday Song, we loved it! “Best Meal Ever”

My husband and I visited the Inn recently to celebrate our anniversary. It was early afternoon on a Saturday and we were one of two tables in the restaurant.
As relaxing and welcoming the interior is in early afternoon, I would love to visit at night with all the candles on the tables lit. I imagine it presents a lovely scene.
Our waiter was wonderful. He was attentive without being intrusive. Our drinks,appetizers and dinner were served perfectly timed. We never felt rushed or
neglected. 
Wanting to try a variety of items, we ordered the crab dip, steamed clams and the baked tomato soup to start.The crab dip was delectable. My husband enjoyed each aand every steamed clam, slightly salted and perfectly prepared. The tomato soup was rich and creamy, piping hot with chunks of tomato with hot melted cheese and croutons. I know I will be back for this when the weather turns cold again.
Our entrees were, for him, the huge broiled crabcake with harvard beets and cole slaw.
I had the seafood plate with coconut shrimp, broiled scallops and broiled crabcake with scalloped potatoes and cole slaw. Our plan, initially, had been to take part of our dinner home with us. That did not happen. Each and every bite beckoned to be followed by another until the plates were cleared and we were in a state of culinary contentment. 
My one and only regret is that I chose to take dessert home. I am a dessert person. I will overindulge ever time for dessert.
The dessert tray was brought out and I chose the brownie with marshmallow and peanuts. I looked forward to enjoying this with coffee at home that night. It was only okay. The brownie was dry and the flavor so so.
My rule of thumb for our future visits will be to stick to the rest of the menu. There were several other offerings we are anxious to try and if this visit is any indication of the quality of service and food, that visit will be sooner than later, for certain.

My wife and I first visited the Conewago Inn less than a week after we moved to the area in 2007. Everything is great..the food, the atmosphere, the drinks–but the best thing is the owner. Each time we have visited, Tom has come over and greeted us–at first like a long-lost friend and now like an old friend come to dine. My first favorite impression was the dinner rolls; it is so rare to get fresh, warm dinner rolls and the Chocolate-Raspberry butter is to die for.  We love coming and do so as often as we can.

I just wanted to drop you a short message to tell you how great everything was for Jessica’s wedding on September 24th. The food was absolutely wonderful! Many of our guests inquired who the caterer was. Also the presentation was simply beautiful. Jessica, Mike, Bonnie & I were thrilled how great everything
turned out. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t compliment John and the rest of your staff. My wife and I were skeptical of the Inn from years past, but the first thing/person that greeted us the minute we walked in was the owner Tom…It only got better from there. The menu while not too overly expansive/expensive, but not shallow was well comprised. My wife who absolutely hated any kind of Sushi grade fish was thoroughly impressed with the Ahi Tuna appetizer that was accommodated with Wasabi, Ginger, & Seaweed….she likened it to a filet cooked perfectly but slightly better actually. If I could impart any words of wisdom I would say if you’ve been …go back, if you haven’t been do yourself a favor stop by say hello to the owner Tom and befriend the lovely bartenders who seemed to point all of us (patrons) in the right direction. The bottom line is if you’re in the mood for a well thought appetizer, entree, & or dessert stop at the Conewago Inn and say hello to Tom.
 
P.S. We’re actually first time customers of the dinner service here who will be regulars from now on….it’s that good!

My wife and I had a lovely, romantic dinner on a Saturday evening next to the fireplace. Our dinner was perfect, especially the Lobster Ravioli chef selection. Although the restaurant was extremely busy, the service was excellent. We were made to feel very special by the entire staff.

My husband and I visited the Inn (as we call it) the third day it opened, we were welcomed with open arms, we were adopted as part of the family.  We dine at the Inn on special occasions or once in a while just stop in for a cup of soup and an order of clams.  We love this restaurant and the family who run it.
